Baptism

Baptismal classes held for first-time parents and also new parishioners who wish to have their child baptized at St. Mary's on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Center.  Anyone wishing to have their child baptized should call the Parish Office, and, at that time, basic information will be asked and the dates will be given for the Baptism class.  Parents MUST attend this pre-Baptism preparation class before the Baptism of the child.  It is recommended that this class be taken AFTER the birth of the child.  At the class, the priest or the deacon conducting the class will help the parents complete the information form and assign the date of the Baptism at that time.

Qualification For Sponsorship

In order to receive a Sponsor Eligibility letter from St. Mary, one must be a Catholic in good standing, that is, one who is registered in the parish, uses Sunday envelopes (no specified amount) and attends Mass every Sunday.  All requests are to be made well in advance of the reception of the Sacrament and will be issued only in Church after a weekend Mass by one of the priests or deacons.   To be admitted to the role of sponsor for a Baptism or Confirmation, a person must have completed the 14th year; be a Catholic who has been confirmed, and be a practicing Catholic.  A father or mother may not act as sponsor for their own child.  .

 Matrimony

Marriages are usually celebrated on Fridays or Saturdays.  To allow the couple and priest ample time for preparation, a one-year reservation of a date is necessary.  Catholics contemplating marriage should be practicing the faith.  Contact the parish office for more information.
